Our Genuine Rugby Shirt, Cawthorne is inspired by original drawings from 1823. The use of thin white stripes break-up the solidity of the composed colouration giving this Shirt a very elegant and classy look. Made from solid natural materials, Cawthorne is a very unique quality Rugby Shirt. Our range of Shirts has been inspired by clubs at regional and country level mainly from the UK, originating from the late 19th century and through to the 1930s. Back then, rugby players used to wear Shirts with a traditional style and generally using a more subdued colour scheme. Characteristic of the style for this era was the use of wide loops (Grassington) or narrow white stripes (Cawthorne), as well as just the plain design (Plainsbridge). The name and crest of the club was normally stitched on the upper left area of the shirt. The clubs also used real rubber buttons. You will find all these characteristics in our Shirts.
